Motherhood

Motherhood is
a strange word for
a permanent change,
an alteration of state.
Whittled down to #momlife.

I am forever molting, warping,
blending, hardening, see through,
unclear and opaque to molt again and
again and again and again.

What
sometimes feels like unrequited love
a constant longing for what was
to be present in what is
while fearing their safety in what
is to come.
Changing.
